Η εκπομπή δημιουργήθηκε το 2009 με τίτλο "Sludge-PostCore-Experimental" με σκοπό να καλυφθεί η σκηνή του Post Rock / Metal, Sludge, Doom. Στην πορεία ενσωματώθηκαν και άλλα είδη όπως Desert-Stoner, Drone, Shoegaze ενώ σταδικά αναπτύχθηκε ενδιαφέρον και για παρεμφερή είδη όπως Psychedelic, Ambiet, Space Rock κτλ. Ο διαχωρισμός των ειδών εκτός από μια σχετικά φιλόδοξη διαδικασία ίσως να καθίσταται μάταιος καθώς αυτό που έχει σημασία είναι το πραγματικό κριτήριο της αναζήτησης Καλής Μουσικής με αναφορά στην εποχή της. Όλες οι παραπάνω, στην πραγματικότητα είναι underground μουσικές που, στην ελλάδα τουλάχιστον απασχολούν μια μειοψηφία αλλά με την πάροδο του χρόνου έχουν αρχίσει (ευτυχώς) να ενδιαφέρονται γι' αυτές περισσότεροι άνθρωποι. Δεν μπορεί κάποιος παρά να αναγνωρίσει ότι όλες αυτές οι μπάντες έχουν δημιουργήσει στην ουσία μια παγκόσμια σκηνή που σηματοδοτεί την ενηλικίωση του rock ήχου και ιδιαίτερα εκείνου που χαρακτηρίζεται ως "σκληρός" καθώς η χρήση κάποιου είδους παραμόρφωσης (στις κιθάρες τουλάχιστον) και μιας παρέκλισης από το "ορθόδοξο" μοντέλο του ρεφρέν-κουπλέ είναι πάγια συνισταμένη σε όλα τα, χμ, είδη.

Στην συνέχεια ο τίτλος της εκπομπής για λόγους ευχρησίας μετατράπηκε σε "Sludge98FM" αφαιρώντας τα, κάπως παραπλανητικά συνθετικά και προσθέτοντας το τίτλο του ραδιοφωνικού σταθμού χωρίς τις υποδομές του οποίου θα ήταν αδύνατον να υπάρξει.

Με την είσοδο ενός ακόμα μέλους στην παραγωγή η εκπομπή πήρε χαρακτήρα show με αναφορές, αναλύσεις και άλλες συζητήσεις on air, εμπλουτίζοντας έτσι το περιεχόμενο της. Λίγο αργότερα μπήκε στο τραπέζι η ιδέα της πραγματοποίησης μεταδόσεων ζωντανών συνεντεύξεων και εμφανίσεων μέσα από το χώρο του στούντιο που είχε την τύχη να υλοποιηθεί με την συμμετοχή των Circassian, των Last Rizla και των Waxing Gibbous.

Για την ώρα η εκπομπή έχει σταματήσει να μεταδίδεται. Διατηρούμε το blog και μέσα από αυτό θα μπορείτε (και) να ενημερωθείτε για τις εξελίξεις σχετικά με την επανεκκίνηση των μεταδόσεων. Ανάλογη ενημέρωση θα παρέχουμε όταν έρθει η ώρα και μέσω του σταθμού www.radio98fm.org

Στο μεταξύ θα δημοσιεύονται videos με κομμάτια που μας αρέσουν και με την προοπτική να δημιουργηθεί ένα μικρό online αρχείο εύκολα προσβάσιμο από κάθε υπολογιστή που διαθέτει internet.
